Seattle- The Lovely Sunny/Rainy City (Day 1)

I had so much fun this weekend! I don't even know where to start. I'm going to do different entries for each day so each post will be a manageable size. I drove in through downtown on the highway following the directions to my friend's house. She lives with her boyfriend in a great location just a few blocks from downtown.

As much as I've enjoyed traveling alone- and I very sincerely have- I REALLY loved seeing my Peace Corps friends again. I really missed everyone.

I arrived at the house just before dinner time, found parking, and then Kirstin (my girl from Peace Corps Morocco), Emil (Kirstin's boyfriend), and I went out to grab a bite to eat. There's a new Thai place close to their house called Jup, Jup, Jup. I ordered the 3 out of 4 spice for the Pad Thai, and I feel like I could have handled hotter. It was good though... a nice blend of sweet and hot. The atmosphere is nice too, and their liquor license should go through soon. There was a banana blossom as a garnish, and I asked if it was edible and how you eat it. The server told me she just eats the entire thing. I tried a bite, and I can't say the texture was something I was a big fan of. It kinda coats your mouth with something. At least I can say I tried it.

After dinner, we met a bunch of friends out for spiked coffee and martinis. Here are a few photos from our group.

Mia, Josh, and I

Josh and Jessica at Oddfellows

Four of us, Josh, Mia, Jessica and I, stayed out a bit longer ending the night at a place called Oddfellows Cafe and Bar. The food smelled fantastic, and the room was set up with picnic tables and benches. They had a good beer list, and we tried different types and hung out for another hour or so before calling it a night.

Next- Seattle Day 2
