This will be my picture post, finally. I'm going to try to incorporate more photos in the blog in general, but sometimes it's complicated to get them off my camera. I found that though the quality is a little worse, I have an easier time transferring cell phone pictures. You'll get some of those in the future, though most of the photos that I will post in this blog entry are from my camera. Here we go...
Here I am where it's always "Miller Time". Yes, the place where they repeated the Miller Time slogan probably 20 or 30 times... Miller Brewing Company! It was a fun time there. I didn't take too many photos during the tour because I just didn't think it was THAT interesting (though kinda cool... don't want to degrade the experience, but I just didn't think photos would come out).
For whatever reason even though I've probably seen this design a million times, I don't know if I would have recognized it as Miller. But, you know what, I really like it. The girl on the moon is pretty darn cool. I want to be the girl on the moon holding a cold beverage in a funky vintage dress.
This is the coolest High Life sign I've ever seen... but actually, this photo is a little misleading. It doesn't actually glow. It's made of metal (copper maybe?), so my flash did the glowing part. Still, you get the gist. It's a damn cool sign.
Colleen and I tasting some lovely Miller Beer... I want to say yum, but, well, I can't really. You guys have all tasted Miller Lite and Miller High Life. To be fair, it tastes a whole lot better on tap at the Miller Brewery. The Leinenkugel was good! Yayyy! Go Miller!
Colleen and I both love cheese. It was her idea to take a photo right next to this sign at the Cheese Mart in downtown Milwaukee that says cheese loves us too. Cheese most of the time loves me, but every so often it decides to play tricks on my stomach, silly silly cheese. But that's okay. My relationship with cheese is a thing of beauty, and true love lasts forever.
On a side note, I didn't realize this until doing this blog, but Colleen tends to take photos length-wise and I take them width-wise. That's why you always see the pictures of us and I'm in a smaller photo on the right (or maybe below if you have a small screen like I do).
This is also at the Cheese Mart. We both got Beer Samplers and Cheese Flights. So wonderfully delicious! This is quintessential Milwaukee right here, and I absolutely loved it.
Sprecher!!! We were doing a beer and cheese tasting after our micro-brewery tour. What a fabulous place!
Here we are again, me on the right looking very serious. And it truly is serious business selecting the cheeses that I absolutely MUST purchase. I made up a little system to rate the cheeses and beers that changed as we went along. We started with a basic smiley for good and a squiggly for just okay, to smileys with noses and teeth, and squiggly sad faces. No offense, Wisconsin, but my favorite cheese by far at this particular tasting was from Ireland- Whiskey infused Cheddar. I definitely purchased some along with Sprecher Root Beer, Beer, and Barley Wine. Super fun!
