Henna Hands and the Hostel

Back again today so I don't always end up a day behind on my entries.

I have a question... does spray tan have henna in it? It seems to work very similarly to henna in terms of how long it lasts, how it works. It is thankfully slightly darker today- as in browner, though the brownish orange spots on my palms are still not attractive. My arms do look better though which is a good sign.

Anyhow, so yesterday, I decided to try doing a video blog from the car. If it works, I'll keep them coming since it's kinda fun when you're bored and have no one to talk to.

Here it goes:

Does it work? If so, very cool and you will get more. I will know in a minute.

So after my drive I arrived in Minneapolis and got a little lost on my way to the hostel. Google maps help, but I have to be so careful while driving and doing that. Attention! I know what kind of consequences not paying attention to the road can have, and I'm not trying to get myself hurt. I promise I'll pull over and google map whenever possible.

My GPS on my phone was consistently off by several blocks all the time... then when I went to see if I could reset my GPS, I realized that it wasn't even on this whole time. Well there you go... So as soon as I turned it on, it went immediately to my exact location. Much better. Sorry Google- I blamed you but it was my fault.

I arrived in the area, and I did't really see any signs for the hostel. I desperately had to find a restroom so I go into the Art Institute. It's a really nice place! I think I'll stop in there today when I'm finished blogging and doing laundry. Moving on, I got the address of the hostel, and discovered it was right there, but just without signs. I rang the bell and a guy answered and brought me into the office. I got to choose between 2 rooms and he gave me a towel and linens.

So I'm a little torn on the price. Though it's really shabby, it's a cool building. It ended up being 79 dollars for 2 nights, which isn't bad, but I could have gotten my own room with my own bathroom with a whole lot less character at a Motel 6. I think I made the right choice, because not only am I in a cute little neighborhood with historic mansions in the city, but I'm sure I'll get the Motel 6 experience more often than not. Plus, the staff is really cool and friendly, and I get use of a full kitchen with everything I could ever need and a large fridge. Okay, this is the better choice. I want to do a video tour of the mansion... I'll ask the guy if that would be okay first and then I'll post it later on. Fun!

p.s. I should note that I found this place on Hostelworld.com... and EXCELLENT resource to find hostels with good ratings around the world. I used it in Amsterdam, and was very pleased with what I found.

Stay tuned for more on my day in Minneapolis! I've had a recommendation for a cool street to visit, and I'm heading to the museum.
